Southteq have designed and developed Flexband which is an anti skid overbanding tape built to withstand any temperatures that the UK provides. We launched this overbanding tape in early 2023 and all our contractors, councils and end users who use our overbanding tape have had a much better and easier user experience thanks to these main benefits.

Flexband overbanding tape is made to seal off the edges in vertical and horizontal joints in asphalt surfaces. It will then prevent any dirt/debris or water from getting into the joint or repair to prevent any cracking in the future. All our tapes provided come with an anti slip finish and have over 100 skid resistant value (SRV)

How to apply Overbanding tape
Ensure the application area you want to apply the tape to make sure its clean and free from any dust, dirt or debris. Gently preheat the area with a blow torch to remove any moisture.

Lay down the overbanding tape with the anti slip facing up and cut the correct length required you need to prevent any wastage.
Using a blow torch, create a back and forth motion and heat the tape with an even spread until the tape becomes molten.
The Overbanding has now been applied, please wait until the surface has cooled which will be visible to the eye. Should you require further assistance then please contact the office or your Southteq representative for further info.
